As a full-time machinist and CNC programmer, I saw firsthand the limitations in available workholding solutions—especially for secondary operations using the Modular GS vises we rely on daily. Setting up a different brand of vise just for one-off or follow-up machining steps was inefficient and time-consuming.

To solve this, I began designing custom soft jaws specifically for our GS vises. The goal was simple: eliminate the need to remove the vises from the CNC table by creating jaws that could be quickly swapped in and out. This small innovation saved us setup time and improved workflow.

That idea grew into DG Jaws—a small Canadian company dedicated to designing and machining high-quality soft jaws and low-profile gripping jaws for GS and Gerardi S.p.A. modular vises. Our products are built by machinists, for machinists and hobbyists alike, with a focus on precision, durability, and shop efficiency.
